A product’s degree of quality is a direct result of the suppliers we choose to work with.
Technical expertise is, of course, an essential prerequisite, but that alone is not enough. Our partners undergo a rigorous audit and have to be as committed as we are to quality and safety, as well as social and environmental issues.
Once we have selected our partner factories, we provide them with a set of detailed specifications. It specifies all of our requirements, which go far beyond those imposed by regulatory standards.
It also details the quality controls that we ask them to carry out throughout the entire production process to guarantee that our products deliver on their promises. We establish a real "contract of trust" with our suppliers.
As soon as we validate the first samples, we test them in France at an accredited laboratory.
Once the product has been declared compliant, production runs can begin.
Although it is not a regulatory requirement, independent inspectors are appointed by Djeco to systematically take samples from manufacturing sites.
If the level of quality does not meet our standards, the quality team asks for adjustments to be made before allowing production to continue and authorising delivery to our logistics warehouse.
Each year, more than 1,500 inspections are carried out at our production sites and more than 2,000 safety tests are performed by certified laboratories.
When toys have left our warehouse, we continue to guarantee their traceability thanks to a batch number ("BC") marked next to the barcode or directly on the toys themselves. Each number corresponds to a production batch, making it easy to identify the factory where and the date on which each product was manufactured, as well as associated laboratory tests.
It’s then over to the children to play with them, in total safety, under the watchful eye of their parents!

Our products are designed to last.
We use dense cardboard for our stacking blocks and jigsaw puzzles, top-quality plywood to give our wooden toys strength, special reinforcement paper for our playing cards and our Crazy Motors cars use metal that can withstand any toy car pileup.
We opt for environmentally responsible materials such as wood and cardboard.
In response to the challenges of sustainable development, Djeco has been committed to ensuring that its products are FSC® certified since 2010. This label guarantees that the wood and cardboard used come from sustainably managed forests, contributing to the renewal of resources, the preservation of biodiversity and the protection of indigenous peoples.
In 2024, 79% of our wood and cardboard products are FSC® certified, and that percentage continues to rise every year!
If the wood we have in mind when designing our products is not eligible for FSC® certification, we turn to alternatives that preserve natural resources. We use rubberwood from sustainably managed forests, for example, to give a second life to trees that no longer produce latex.
The size of our packaging is adjusted to each product. Reducing packaging limits the amount of material that needs to be extracted, produced, transported and managed at each stage of the product life cycle. Furthermore, since 2021, we have stopped using over-wrapping film and we've always favoured open boxes with no plastic windows.
Inside our boxes, we are phasing out single-use plastics and replacing them with alternatives made of paper: paper strips to hold cards together, envelopes for game tokens and arts and crafts sets, etc.

The great Djeco family |
Djeco has remained a close-knit family-run business. The company was handed down from mother to son and there is now an entire team. There's a real family spirit at our historic workshop in the heart of Paris, as well as in our logistics warehouse. The company has grown to keep pace with the brand's development, while managing to retain its unique character. Today there are more than 70 of us, nearly half of whom have already been with the company for ten years. We share the same bond with our loyal creative community and our business partners, who also play a part in shaping Djeco's wonderful legacy every day.
Forging lasting relationships with our partners |

We are convinced that excellence is best expressed over the long-term.
So, to offer products that combine both technical and aesthetic qualities, we foster lasting relationships of trust with our partners, some of which have lasted for decades.
We strive to create a virtuous circle of collaboration in which each of the parties involved – suppliers, designers, illustrators, agents and retailers – can develop and evolve alongside Djeco.

Introducing children to art |
Our goal, with each of our products, is to fill children with wonder while also encouraging them to explore the world of art.
Today, the original creations of more than 200 artists lend Djeco its distinctive arty touch.
Our arts and crafts sets each come with a booklet introducing the world of each illustrator and a small gallery of their work.
Djeco’s illustration collection |

In 2011, Frédéric and Barbara Michel-Dalès assembled a collection of illustrations for children with a desire for sharing their passion for this art form. The collection aims to support artistic creation and exhibit works by young contemporary artists, mainly from France.
This unique collection was unveiled to the public in 2018, enabling young and old alike to admire its works at the "C'est pas du jeu!" exhibition at the Musée de l'Illustration jeunesse in Moulins, central France.
Today, Djeco's collection includes more than 250 original works of art. With their poetic and delightfully cheeky aesthetic, they invite us to immerse ourselves in the magic of childhood.

Our charitable commitments |
We have made regular donations to charitable organisations committed to helping children in hospitals, or in need, since 2014.
We have established lasting relationships with organisations operating in the local area, such as the Restos du Cœur and the Blouses Roses, who work in hospitals.
We also provide support to children in situations of crisis, such as refugees or those who have no place to stay because of flooding.
